January 23, Srinagar: Acting on credible intelligence, Panthachowk Police Station conducted a targeted search operation at the residence of Irfan Ahmad Ganie, son of Manzoor Ahmad Ganie, in Athawajan.
The operation, conducted under the supervision of Tehsildar Panthachowk (a Gazetted Officer), led to the seizure of 290 bottles of Codeine Phosphate, a controlled substance.
A police spokesperson confirmed that a case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, with an investigation launched under FIR No. 05/2025.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police reaffirmed their commitment to combating drug trafficking and safeguarding the community from the menace of illegal substances.
