Kathua, Feb 6: The District Magistrate of Kathua has ordered a magisterial inquiry to determine the cause of death of Makhan, a resident of Billawar. Anil Kumar, JKAS, has been appointed as the Enquiry Magistrate for the case.
According to an official order, a copy of which was accessed by Daily Kashmir, the District Magistrate stated that the death of Makhan, son of Murid, has come to their notice, warranting a formal investigation to ascertain the actual cause of death.
To ensure a fair inquiry, Anil Kumar, JKAS, Tehsildar Lohai Malhar, has been tasked with conducting the investigation and submitting a detailed report. The order further directs that the Enquiry Magistrate must complete the probe within five days, gathering statements from all relevant individuals and following the necessary legal procedures.
Earlier, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had also called for a thorough investigation into the youth’s death.
