Jammu, Feb 6: A tragic road accident in the Kunda Dhar Ponda area of Doda district claimed the life of one person and left five others injured after their vehicle fell into a deep gorge on Thursday.
According to officials, a Maruti car (JK02AD-8791) lost control near Kunda Dhar Ponda and plunged into the gorge. Following the incident, locals and police immediately launched a rescue operation, shifting the injured to GMC Doda for medical treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Kavita Devi (15). The injured include:
- Sunny (13), son of Melab Singh, resident of Baravan, Tehsil Barth Bagla, Doda
- Sachan (15), son of Naresh Kumar, resident of Baravan, Tehsil Barth Bagla, Doda
- Sanjana Devi (25), daughter of Bharat Raj, resident of Baravan, Tehsil Barth Bagla, Doda
- Sejal (23), daughter of Bharat Raj, resident of Baravan, Tehsil Barth Bagla, Doda
- Punjab Singh (42)
Meanwhile, police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the accident.
